Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) remains the most common childhood cancer with drug resistance continuing to plague patients. Leukaemic cells inhabit the bone marrow, influencing their surrounding environment to support disease expansion and resistance to therapeutic targeting. This thesis examines the location of ALL cells, describing new interactions between the leukaemic cells and the bone marrow that support disease progression. Continuing to investigate novel interactions between ALL cells and the bone marrow is critical for improving clinical treatments to eliminate drug resistant cells, minimising relapse.
