This research explores the key elements for a sustainable microcredit company (MCC) model in China. It raises awareness and inspires microcredit practitioners to promote triple bottom line sustainability. The efficacious application of qualitative research in China contributes to knowledge in the field of research methodology. This study adds to knowledge in microcredit theory by referring to Base of the Pyramid and sustainability theories. It contributes to the current state of knowledge by presenting a strategic solution for MCCs by developing complementary transformational training programs for employees and customers in a volatile business and political environment in China.
