We present a theoretical and experimental overview for electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in warm alkali vapor that accounts for effects from buffer gas interactions. We consider various phenomena that affect EIT linewidth including Doppler broadening, pressure broadening, power broadening, and Dicke narrowing. Dicke narrowing measurements are carried out for buffer gas pressures ranging from 10 Torr to 30 Torr. We tested previous data collected by our group on Dicke narrowing, and validated the previous results for buffer gas pressures of 10 and 20 Torr. For a buffer gas pressure of 30 Torr, our EIT signals are too small and need to be improved. Preliminary measurements of Dicke narrowing for a buffer gas pressure of 5 Torr are presented.
