The Possible Worlds Semantics' main function is to examine the events, objects, and fictional beings by considering them logical and linguistic functions and, additionally, it pretends to consider the ways through which language is able to create narrative universes that work with their own structural codes. In this sense, the current research minds this theory purpose in order to show not only the status about what is conditional and what is feasible, but the situation of that which cannot be included among the realm of conceivable worlds: the impossible. Thus, this monograph overall purpose is to apprehend the functioning of semantic linguistic mechanism on the fantastic fiction from a fictional worlds' theory genuine proposal, the «extensional grounds», which exposes every fictional reference as a phenomenal universe non-mimetic expression. Therefore, one of this doctoral dissertation cardinal points is to analyze the fantastic genre semantic-extensional particularities through the impossibility which belongs to this fictional category, and that is displayed different way in each one of its diachronic dimensions: traditional and postmodern. In short, as a final aim, it is presented a detailed exposition about the impossible as a result of the linguistic transgression which belongs to the postmodern fantastic and it is placed beyond the human idiosyncrasy limits and, simultaneously, beyond our conceptual ability.
