This thesis proposes an alternative governance structure for east central Europe – the Intermarium. The Intermarium is based on the development of a supplementary federal structure capable of controlling factionalism and nationalism utilizing concepts from James Madison’s Tenth Federalist. An argument is made that by continuing the 'brute force' search approach, computer chess development is moving away from human evaluation methods. This study examines relational maintenance strategies that people use specifically in the relationship known as friendship.
